snapshots of my week – 8th may

coloured twine on turquoise background

peugeot bike

my plans for this week took a hit when i injured my foot, and then injured my shoulder. i wanted to get out whilst the weather is still reasonable to take some photos around barry island or cosmeston lakes, but due to being in pain with every footstep, that wasn’t the wisest choice.

at the beginning of next week i should hopefully be going to london for something illustration related, so should my poor foot be up to it after, i’ll definitely go exploring somewhere nearby in the following days.

tax offices in llanishen

pink flower buds

patterned turquoise box

pens and kraft paper notebook

i did however make it to llanishen (despite many events trying to stop me) to go to homesense. i’ve heard of it before, swooned over peoples purchases of pretty plates and bowls, but had never actually been in the store before. i wasn’t prepared for so much colour and wanting everything.

i was kindly given some vouchers* to spend in the store and i must’ve gone around the whole place about 3 times deciding what to get. if i had a car i possibly would have gotten some different things (a terrarium type candle holder and a huge cushion to name two) but i’m happy with what i chose. a turquoise box for my finished artwork, some pens, a kraft paper notebook, coloured twine, an orange candle that smells so good i want to eat it, and some delicious biscuits ..which didn’t last long.

pink flowers

vintage/antique tin

i also found this beaut of a vintage tin on etsy (from a shop called tinternet no less!) and despite not being the type of person that impulse purchases (hardly ever, anyway) i kind of had to have it. the flowers and the pattern were too pretty to resist. it needs a bit of a ..polish? but i am pretty pleased with this buy. now, what to put in it?

thank you alice! thanks to antibiotics, paracetamols and as much rest as i could get considering it was a busy week, i seem to be over the worst of it now! and yeah, there’s some great and very useful stuff in there, will definitely go again some time soonish.
