reasons to be happy

sometimes you need a little reminding of the little (or big) things that make you happy. and sometimes just looking at those things written down can make you feel better too, because you’re thinking in a more positive way.

i’m a pessimist at heart, and i suffer from depression, but even just thinking about things that make me feel good will make me feel better, even if i can’t be doing them  at the time. kind of like the good sort of nostalgia that isn’t full of longing and impossibilities.

instead of just writing a list i thought i’d make something a little more colourful and share it too. obviously these aren’t all the things that make me happy, and there’s probably some more ones that are more meaningful to me, but these were the first things that popped into my head.

what things make you happy?

Ahhh i love this post. Such a good idea. I love all of these things that make you happy. A few for me are: going for a walk in nice weather, dinner with good friends, a glass of white wine, picnics ahh I feel happier already thinking about them! you should turn this into a regular feature somehow! Oh I love this, such a good list and a great idea to see them written down. A few things that make me happy are: music, hot baths, chocolate, beach walks with my family, finding treasures, pinning pretty pictures and creating new things, plus lots more I’m sure. Hope your having a good week. xx

I think it’s so great that you’re cheered by knowing that someone else is having a good day. That’s a lovely quality to have.

Well, I am sat in my living room cuddling the dog and the toddler, waiting for the balloons to start floating by, and that makes me happy!

Lovely post :) Cake is definitely on my list as well as crochet and knitting, just generally making things. Laughing with my kids and the sun :) x

i love this post! i’m definitely a pessimist too and i find it keeps me from getting my expectations too high and then being let down, so i’m not unhappy being this way but it’s definitely a good idea to keep things in check by making sure you appreciate all the wonderful things that life has to offer sometimes.

I often try and remind myself about the things that make me happy and I think it’s a really good thing to do every now and then – I love your list – I agree with all of them :) especially waking up next to the one you love – beautiful

Seeing others succeed – what a lovely thing to say

What makes me happy? Doing something I’m not that comfortable with and succeeding x
