yellow speaks to me.
not literally of course, but it definitely catches my eye in a way no other colour does. turquoise is actually my favourite colour, and pink is an equal favourite to yellow, but yellow just has something special. a few years ago i didn’t love it on the scale i do know, and i’m not sure what happened to trigger my overwhelming love of this sunshine hue, but i’m glad it did.
it’s taken over the front room in the flat a bit – in small ways like my desk drawer, my bookshelf, my small watering can (most of my plants are in that room), my yellow coat hanging on the door ..and a few other things. it’s a colour i just can’t resist when i’m out and about taking photos too. i think seeing yellow things is going to appeal more in the coming darker months too. can’t beat a bit of colour to perk things up.

“Yellow is my favorite, but what is yellow? Handmaiden to white, it is a slight tarnish of pure light. Take away a bit of whites absolute luminosity, and what remains is yellow — sunlike, golden as a crown, buttercups in a field, marsh marigolds, a finch’s wing, a plastic flute.” ― Richard Grossinger
