i have this thing with …plants

nature, in general, has always spoken to me, to the deepest part of my soul. it’s my nourishment on so many levels. my feelings are those to which i can’t put into words. i’m by no means a writer, but i can generally find a way to say what i want to say. it may not be eloquent or read particularly well but what i’m thinking typically finds a way out.

but my love for plants (and nature) knows no bounds. it keeps me rooted but also helps me escape. there’s just such a strong connection that, to me, it doesn’t really need words to explain it. if you know, you know.

so, i’m not really sure what to say in this particular post. i love plants, i love flowers, i love nature in all of it’s magical ways. i love taking photos of plants and trees and flowers in whatever situation i or they are in. for this post i decided to focus on ‘plants’ as opposed to just flowers, or trees or leaves or whatever. i had a hard time choosing still.

perhaps it’s best you don’t read my words, and just look at my photos instead, eh?

Plants exist in the weather and light rays that surround them – waving in the wind, shimmering in the sunlight. I am always puzzling over how to draw such things. ― Hayao Miyazaki

I remember my childhood names for grasses and secret flowers. I remember where a toad may live and what time the birds awaken in the summer — and what trees and seasons smelled like — how people looked and walked and smelled even. ― John Steinbeck
