first photos with the fuji x10

after saving for a good few months (and a bit of ebay luck) i finally got my hands on the fuji x10! i’ve wanted a fully featured and versatile smaller camera for a long time now, and the x10 was probably by far the best camera in my current budget. i got it for £140 on ebay, but these were about £400-£500 when they were new in 2011.

i’ve only had it since saturday, but i have to say i think it’s a fantastic and beautiful camera (look at it!) that i will grow to love in time. it’s the perfect size for my small hands, and it feels fantastic thanks to its build quality.

i mostly wanted a smaller camera so i had no excuse to not have a camera with me. i love my 650d but as we all know, DSLRs are a bit cumbersome to carry around everywhere. being the fusspot i am, i didn’t want just a point and shoot compact, but a compact camera that has full manual controls, RAW shooting, and a good, fast lens. the fuji x10 does not disappoint on any of these terms!

anyway, i’m not trying to write a review ..i just wanted to show you some of my first photos with the x10. it was incredibly overcast and was beginning to get dark when i took it out, and it held up excellently.

This is a lovely looking camera and actually, very similar to what I've been searching for in a digital camera, I'll have to look into this!! Thanks for sharing, I love the details you've captured!

it's soooo pretty! i keep just looking at it, haha. i'd definitely recommend getting a smaller camera if you can (even the 4/3 ones with interchangeable lenses are smaller and seem great) and you're much more likely to bring it with you :)

totally! mine kills my wrist/neck sometimes, so this is a fantastic lightweight alternative.

Oh, also, did you worry at all about buying it from ebay? x

that's the good thing about a (used) camera like this, you're not paying as much as a fancy DSLR so if you're not too confident you dont feel so let down if it takes a while to get to grips with things, yet it's good enough that you can do almost everything you can on a DSLR.

oh, and i've bought a few things like this on ebay before and never had any problems. but the listing had good pictures and it was described in a clear way that made it seem like the seller knew what they were saying! also, i always check feedback too, if it's bad or they're new to ebay i don't bother.
