this has been another week of ups and downs, but not as many downs as last week, so i’m taking that as a win! also, a couple of excellent things have happened this week which i’ll be able to tell you about soon. ooh, vague!
also, if you follow me on twitter, you will have heard about percy, if not, scroll to the cat picture at the bottom of this post. wish we could have kept him!
i found this cute old money tin globe on ebay for an absolute steal! i love globe/earth related things.
..talking of earth related things, how awesome is this badge from kate rowland? i love it.
i made some cushions for the ohh deer pillow fight competition. i’d really appreciate any sales or shares to help me be in with a chance of winning! i can’t afford to buy my own cushions like some people do (i’d personally love my fruity one), so i’m counting on the kindness of you guys! they’re only available for a limited time too, so get in there whilst you can :)

this is percy. when my boyfriend got home from work yesterday he was sitting outside the house, meowing. as soon as the door was open he darted in. he had no collar (but looked like he possibly recently had one) and was a bit skinny. we gave him a slice of turkey and some cat crunchies which he gobbled up.
there’s a vet right opposite our house, so we took him to see if he’d been microchipped so we could find his owners. unfortunately, they’d moved to shropshire a few years ago, and left him behind :( we found out that his name is percy, and that he’s 4 years old.
we took him back home as the vets couldn’t keep him. i made up some posters to put around incase someone had been looking after him, and a couple hours later i went knocking nearby to see if anybody has lost him. it turned out he’s an actual stray ..loads of people recognised him immediately as ‘that really friendly stray’. he really was one of the loveliest cats i’ve ever ‘met’ ..so sweet.
ava came in an hour or so later, and there was a fair bit of hissing and ava was being VERY vocal and making the weirdest voices ever, but luckily no fighting. we were going to contact the vets again and some local places this morning to see if we could get him homed, but he escaped when ava went out this morning! hopefully he’ll come back, or if someone’s been looking after him, that he goes back to them.

i realise this is probably going to seem like the most boring ‘snapshots‘ post in some time. i’ve been both busy and/or depressed this week, so either i’ve been doing so much i’ve not had time to take photos, or i’ve felt too rubbish to do anything, let alone take photos.
i did go to whitchurch to the charity shops, and found some great things, so that definitely made me feel a little better. i’d love someone to go charity shop shopping with, preferably in or between bristol or london. any takers?
here’s hoping next week is better than this, and that i feel a bit happier! it’s definitely hard to work and be creative when your mind is a muddle and tries to put down your every effort, isn’t it?
i found this fantastic planter in one of the charity shops. there were a couple more too but i couldn’t afford/don’t have the room for more! i have decided to call him cecil. he looks like a cecil, right?
i also found this lovely wooly blanket. it was calling to me from across the room, i swear. a lady looked annoyed with me as i picked it up, as i think she probably wanted it too. it’s really warm and looks great with my heart shaped pillow :D
this little tea cannister was only 10p! i love old tins and such things but i never seem to find any around here.
i made this quick 5 minute collage yesterday before starting work on a commission ..which i need to be getting back to now actually! wish me luck.

well, that should be snapshots of my past two weeks seeing as i had a break last week. it felt good to take a week off! i feel like i’ve probably forgotten to include lots of things, but these were (some of, obviously) the photos on my camera, so that’s what you’re getting!
i got some new glasses. i wanted a spare pair incase my others broke or got scratched. i really like them!
i made an illustration of kailey from mermaidens (if you’re reading, i’ll send it soon!) it was so fun doing her hair.
i’ve been waiting for ages to both be able to afford this beauty, and for it to be back in stock! this is bertha, from sophie of oh my clumsy heart. i’ve had my eye (and heart) on it for so long and i’m so happy she can now be around my neck!
i went in john lewis early last week to look for a nice birthday present for the boyfriend. whilst i was there i saw that they had loads of orla kiely stuff ..i wanted it all! but could only afford this beaker. i really wanted this storage jar too but couldn’t afford it!
i found this ..what i assume is a cat, in a charity shop for only 50p! how could i not. kind of reminds me of one of kaye blegvads’ ceramic cats.
and also this piece of coral. it looks much nicer in real life, i swear.
i forgot to mention but i won this awesome glittery card wallet from oh no rachio! ALL the sparkle.
