this is my 100th post! woo! i’m quite proud of myself for sticking with this for as long as i have. i will most definitely continue to do so, as blogging has quickly taken a little piece of my heart. it’s fun, interesting and hard work, and i love it all. as well as that, it’s helping me improve my photography a bit, as well as giving me something to focus on and/or focus all my internet browsing over the years into one place.
if you follow me on instagram or twitter you may know i found this wonderful little tin of chocolates in marks & spencer! i never impulse buy, but i saw this and i just had to get it. so cute! love simple and graphic things like this.
i walked to ikea yesterday, and on the way i realised i’d never walked over the bridge in town that goes over the river taff. i’ve lived in cardiff 3 years now and somehow never been over it. not that that’s overly exciting, but the bridge you see walking over it is really nice! i liked the train too.
this wall of wool was in john lewis. the colours and the way it was stacked and took up a whole long wall made me really rather happy so i had to take a photo!
i found this fantastic book in a charity shop at the beginning of the week. everybody knows the saying ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’, but when you see this, how could you deduce anything other than it’s going to be an awesome book? i loved it so much i wrote a post about it too, which you can read here.
i’ve taken lots of other pictures this week, but they are for a post next week so you’ll just have to wait and see!
what have you done this week?
this has been another quite crafty week, making and modifying things is just too much fun though!
hopefully this creative burst will continue because it’s nice to feel as if i’m doing something useful, even if it’s just for myself. when i have a few days where i just can’t seem to be creative in any way, i really don’t feel myself. i’m sure many of you know exactly how that feels!
did you see my new friday florals series? i will of course continue to do the snapshots of my week posts, as it’s a nice way to look back on the week. the idea of some floral based posts has been floating around in my head for a while, but i wasn’t sure how to tie it all together. now you get some flowers every friday! woo!

this has been one of those weeks where, to be honest, i’ve not done anything much of ‘real’ value. i have however been a bit crafty and made some marbled paper with nail varnish, (would have used acrylic paints but i had nothing to use as a thickener for the water, and the varnish is floaty and comes out bright so a good alternative) painted some more sticks, made some pom poms, hemmed a skirt by hand ..and some other bits too.

wow, it’s may already! i have actually been productive this week, unlike last week where i did very little.
i found my old 28mm vintage lens (which i took yesterdays outfit post with, and all of these) and with the crop factor on my 450d equates it to about 45mm, close enough to 50mm (heard of a ‘nifty fifty’?) for my needs. 50mm lenses are often called normal lenses, because they’re very close to what the human eye sees and has quite a good range when it comes to field of view. if you want to read a little more about crop factor & look at a useful comparison chart, click here. i can only use manual focus with it, but i’ve always preferred that anyway, and i think i might be using this lens from now on instead of the one that came with my camera.
i sorted through my little jewellery pot and found these little bits & bobs i forgot i had! a little crystal heart, two butterfly brooches (how did i forget about these? i love them!) and 3 dice. i don’t know why the dice were in with earrings and brooches, but they were a nice little surprise!
i remembered about free lensing. these were the only two that were somewhat decent, but i’m going to practice so i can take more. there’s a wonderful post about free-lensing on a beautiful mess.
i painted a stick. i know that doesn’t sound interesting but it’s a nice relaxing thing to do, plus it’s a free bit of decor for your house. always finding nice sticks when i’m out for walks, so i’m sure i’ll be painting some more soon.
and i made lots of pom poms! there’ll be a super quick DIY up next week.
