I’m not a fashion blogger per se, but I do enjoy fashion. From time to time I share things I’ve recently worn, wishlists, etc. Mostly charity shop items, but some new pieces too. Want to work with me on a post? Email me!

dresses on lyst (and bags, shoes & more!)heart pattern dress

i’ve partnered with lyst to tell you about how their site works and how you can use it to your advantage.

now, i know when i’m low on funds i sometimes like to do a little ‘internet window shopping’ ..and i’ll often come across items i really want, but at the time i can’t afford, so i bookmark them for when i can. even when i have a bit of spare cash i and plan to buy something, still tend to bookmark items for a couple days ..totally not an impulse buyer. i can’t be the only one that does that, right?

how about you? do you consider purchases carefully or are you more carefree? (late night insomnia purchases not included!)

but there’s a problem with this ..even though my bookmarks are reasonably organised, it still feels cluttered and – as lazy as this sounds – a bit of an effort to go through. as you may know, i buy most of my clothes and accessories in charity shops, but from time to time i will see something online that tickles my fancy and want one place to go to instead of remembering to look at my bookmarks, so i’ve decided to focus my efforts on dresses on lyst, which is mainly fashion focussed anyway.

you can follow brands, bookmark (make ‘lysts’) clothes. shoes and accessories, and super handily you can also receive email alerts when your favourite items go on sale too. which i think is great because i like a bargain but can never be bothered/remember to look out on individual sites for sales.

also great if you don’t want to keep a beady eye on those social feeds! there’s designer dresses on lyst as well as clothes from high street brands and some online only shops too. whatever you want, there’s a lot to choose from. i’m all about choice.

if you’re interested, or are just looking for a bit of inspiration, there’s also curated lysts on the main page which may help you put the perfect outfit together, or could be useful if you were looking to buy a gift for a fashion loving friend.

thinking about it, it’s kind of like pinterest for shopping and that can only be a good thing, right?

have you ever used lyst, or would you use it? if nothing else it’s a definite time-saver!

grey dress & black cardigan | what i wore #yourrules

black cardigan – new look / vero moda dress – ℅ house of fraser / ramona necklace – oh my clumsy heart / belt – charity shop / ivy boots – ℅ hotter / vegas volt MAC lipstick – ℅ house of fraser

firstly, look at how long my fringe is getting! can’t believe i still haven’t cut it yet.

secondly – oof, it’s starting to get properly chilly! normally in late autumn/early winter i still tend to wear lots of colour, but just lately i have been wearing a lot of black and grey and this outfit is no exception. still have that bit of colour with lipstick and my fuschia coat though (one day i’ll wear it in an outfit post – remind me!).

i, along with a few other bloggers, were challenged to style this grey swing dress in our own way (the hashtag chosen for this is #mystylemydress) and instead of dressing it up all fancy, i’m wearing it here exactly how i’ve been wearing it out and about, as well as around the house. saying that, it’s an exceptionally easy dress to style however you want depending on occasion.

we were also gifted an additional item – curious to see what the other ladies got! – to help add further to our own style. this item was actually a surprise and to be honest, as soon as i saw the MAC lipstick box i literally said ‘yessss!’. lipstick is my favourite makeup item, and the one thing i nearly always wear. lady danger is my all time favourite lipstick, but obviously sometimes you don’t always want to wear bold shades (especially if you have little other makeup on, and just want a touch of colour instead).

vegas volt, for me, is a good middle ground. it’s not too full on, but has more colour than what, for me, would be a ‘nude’ or more natural shade. you probably know how much i love coral shades too and vegas volt is definitely that.

so yeah. i really like lipstick. maybe i could do a post with my favourite lipsticks?

finally onto the boots. the oh-so-comfy-add-a-bit-of-edge-to-your-outfit-boots. i have worn these pretty much every day since i got them in october. with my recent toe issues i was afraid they were going to ‘suffocate’ it a bit, but they’ve done no such thing and i don’t have to worry about freezing of my toes anymore. i think they look great with all my clothes too, and give this simple look a bit of a boost.

a wishlist

wishlist of fashion and tech items including macbook pro, olympus em10 and adidas trainers

i very rarely do wishlist posts, and ..well, this isn’t quite a wishlist, more a ‘things i plan to buy at some point but by the time i have enough money they’ll not exist anymore ..list’, ha! but i guess it’s a wishlist in the sense that should some kind soul want to buy me any of these things, they’ll know what i want. *nudge nudge to my boyfriend if we ever win the lottery*

these are all things i’ve wanted (or in terms of a new laptop, needed) for quite some time, as well as a couple of things that are more recent, but still longed for. in no particular order:

olympus omd em10 – for quite some time i’ve wanted a DSLR replacement that has the image and build quality of one, but in a smaller, lighter body. i love my fuji x10 so much and i take it absolutely everywhere with me, but i know a camera like this (with a prime lens) would offer much better image quality (plus other benefits) for times when i want or need superior images. i’d have to sell my 650d and save on top to be able to afford this, but i’ve done a lot of research and it really seems like an amazing camera.

adidas campus 80s – i saw these in a shop in town and i pretty much haven’t stopped thinking about them since. i don’t really wear trainers because i can never find any i like, but these are pretty much my dream trainers and they’d go with almost all my more casual clothes.

miu miu cat eye glasses – these pink ones are cute as heck and i love them. i’m not 100% sure they’d suit my face but given the chance i’d give them a try for sure! failing that i think these would look pretty ace too. i could easily do a separate post just on glasses i want!

eames daw chair replica – as much as i’d love a proper eames chair, this is a good looking and affordable alternative. there’s a chair in our front room i’d love to replace and i think this’d fit the bill perfectly. would look really nice with my habitat momo sofa too!

macbook pro – or just any semi decent laptop – this is the thing i’m currently actually saving for, as my laptop is on its last legs, and i need a new one. also, it’s pretty slow and as i mostly use it for working on collages (editing handmade ones, making digital ones), editing photos and basic video editing i need something better than what i’ve got. i just hope this one lasts until i get a new one! ps. pcworld have £50 off macs with the code ’50MAC ‘ if that helps anyone else!

misoui bag – i have been looking for a simple, good quality brown leather tote forever, and since coming across this one via sara’s (me & orla) twitter, i knew it was the one for me!

orla kiely shoes – more specifically the ‘amelia’ ones. i’ve had my eye on them since they came out! so cute and they’d go with lots of my clothes. that’s how you justify shoes, right?

emilie coat – love it! love the colour, the style, the length, the fact it has pockets ..just generally a coat i’d love to have (and to wear obviously).
